Four Months

Well, she is getting to be soooo sweet and cuddly these days. Sleep was just great until recently. She has been missing us at night and crying out for us. Its been tough, but we will get through it. Today I took her to day care for the first time, and man was it rough! She did NOT want to say goodbye and I felt terrible about it. I went over there for lunch though and she already seemed to be adapting to her new environment. No wonder people stay home with their kids - now I understand! It will be a hard transition over the next couple of weeks, but it will be worth it I'm sure.

She's been talking up a storm and finally laughed the other day. I made her giggle over and over by swishing my hair on her face. She thought it was the funniest thing in the world, and I was so blessed by it!

Stella Grace, The Third Month (Nirvana!)

Its amazing how much changed when Stella reached about 10-12 weeks. She started sleeping in really long stretches, smiling even more and babbling a little bit. I started dressing her up more often and wearing her in the sling a lot. I took her out more as the weather got a little warmer. We just spent our first day in downtown Columbia last Saturday, even walked through an art gallery together. I finally felt confident as a mother this month - I have reached Nirvana!

Stella Grace, The Second Month

The second month was still a struggle, but I started getting the hang of things. She slept just a little longer and smiled a little more, which was a great gift. Her smile just makes me melt! She started to fall in love with Mr. Cow this month and smiled at him constantly, especially on the changing table - her favorite spot.

Stella Grace, the first month

Well, let's just say the first month took forever to go by. It was a sleepless time for all, and challenging to say the least. She was a beautiful little creature, but boy did she test my strengh, emotionally and physically. She slept about 3-4 hours a time at night...then took FOREVER to fall back asleep after eating. Lots of bouncing and singing in the wee hours. I also watched a lot of late night television - including Rosanne and The Cosby Show. Good times.
